1975 to 1978 Seasons

After the 1974/1975 season ended the 'CA, having again been champions, resigned from the Houghton and District league, as was the rule, in order to apply for membership to the Wearside league. Unfortunately the application was turned down and then the Houghton league refused to re-admit the club. A little bit political to say the least. The 'CA’ was left with no choice but to fold and in the process lost the use of the Ryhope CW ground.

Three seasons passed before the club reformed again for the 1978/1979 season and played in the Northern Alliance league.
