1971 / 1972 Season

Back to normal this season except for the name change. The club was now RYHOPE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION F.C. Obviously in print this was shortened to just Ryhope CA. As time passed the team was simply referred to as the ‘CA’.

Jimmy Clark and Norman T Taylor with their reduced work committments were able to devote more time to the club. With the committee back to normal and the secretary's job handed over to ??? I could now go back to my minor role on the committee and enjoy playing football again. So in just the second season in the Houghton & District League we finished Runners Up and won both the Seaham Aged Miners and Houghton Blind Cups.

As yet I can't put my hands on any other information for this season.
