1978/1979 Season

This was my last season with the 'CA. So my 'CA career lasted from the clubs first ever game in 1963 until 1979. The only season I didn't play was in 1965/1966 season. As the club did not function for 3 seasons, starting 1975/1976, I played in  12 out of the 13 seasons.

This photo shows Brian Page in action against Carlisle City on 4th November 1978. This proved to be Brians last season with the Club having started in 1968. With the Club folding for 3 seasons he played around 330 games in 8 seasons. He was captain for most of this time and was without doubt one of the main reasons the Club had been so successful. Not only was this the final season for Brian and myself, it was also Bobby Pickering and Billy Mitchell's last season. Between us we played around 1200 games for the Club. Along with Harry Clark we played together throughout the clubs sucesses in the 1970's. It was a pleasure to play along side such talent.
